Motor Insurance quote and buy platform
Aviva (Direct Line Brands) · 2023 – now
Challenge
Customers buy and manage motor policies online, so the platform has to stay reliable while the team ships changes frequently.
What I did
Led the design of the APIs and backend services on Spring Boot and AWS Lambda, with a MuleSoft layer integrating core insurance systems. Set up GitHub Actions pipelines with automated testing and deployment, and led incident response and root-cause fixes.
Claims services needed low latency and the ability to change one API without risking the others.
What I did
Led end-to-end delivery of scalable claims services built test-first, with a dedicated CI/CD pipeline per API so each could be tested and released on its own.

Challenge
Account management processes involved multi-step approvals that needed to be modelled and tracked reliably.
What I did
Acted as the team's expert on integrating the Flowable BPM workflow engine, built features end to end in Angular and Spring Boot, and wrote the solution architecture documents.
